Authentic Haitian Bananas Peze Recipe

Ingredients

  • Piké marinade
  • 3 to 4 green plantains
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 bowl of warm salted water (optional)
  • Add 1 tablespoon of marinade piké for 300 of water

Preparation Steps

1. Prepare the plantains

Cut the ends, remove the peel, and cut into thick slices ( 2 to 3 cm).

2. Dip

add the plantains into a cold bowl of water (1glass) add a tablespoon of piké marinade and 2 tablespoon of salt for 15min

3. first fry 

fry for 5 to 6 minutes over medium heat until they are pale yellow.drain

4. flatten(peze)

flatten each piece with a tostonera or a glass

5. Second fry

Fry again for 2 to 3 minutes until they are golden and crispy. Salt immediately.
